Meet the team

Simon joined in 2018 as interim CFO and became Managing Director in 2019. A chartered management accountant, he brings experience from FMCG, retail, wholesale, and IT sectors. His role centres on commercial, operational, and strategic matters. With a successful track record as CEO, COO, and CFO, Simon excels in driving business growth.

Joining in 2016, Jo’s responsible for the Group’s People and Purpose agenda, covering strategic leadership, communication, culture, values, and behaviours. Previously, she’s held senior leader roles in retail, finance, FMCG and purpose-led organisations. Jo lives with her partner, children, and dogs, and spends her spare time outdoors watching football or on the local hills.

John joined in 2013 and the focus of his team is on Group strategy development as well as leading on mergers and acquisitions. His background is in project and programme management in the energy and public sectors. Originally from Blackpool, John now lives in Liverpool and in his spare time enjoys playing golf and watching football.

Gareth, who joined in 2021, leads a team providing people, communications, public affairs, data science, IT, and legitimacy support to the Group. He’s held senior leadership roles in energy, retail, finance, and business. Outside work, Gareth lives with his partner in a North Wales cottage, serving as a community councillor and enjoying gardening.

Ed, with the Group since 2019, leads a team delivering TAG strategy, building consumer-business trust in the energy sector. He’s held strategy, regulatory, and operational roles in water, communications, and energy, working for major UK regulated businesses like Thames Water and BT. Living in Manchester with his family, Ed enjoys live music and solving cryptic crosswords.

Andy joined the business in February 2023, leading the team delivering TAG strategy for the Communications Ombudsman. With vast experience as a Customer Service and Complaint Director in UK, EU, and USA, he focuses on building trust between consumers and businesses. Living in Warwickshire with his family, he's interested in emerging technologies' that impact on our world.

Richard joined in October 2022. His team prioritises continuous improvement and program integration for building, maintaining, and restoring trust within the Group. He excels in driving performance improvement and has led large-scale consumer improvement programs. He’s held senior roles in energy, communications, financial services, and healthcare sectors. Married with a daughter, Richard also enjoys cycling in his leisure time.

David, a chartered accountant, joined the business in 2019. His teams handle financial reporting, planning, forecasting, data quality, risk, and governance assurance. He has previous experience in the energy and communications sectors, working in operational and financial roles. Outside of work, David is a rugby league fan, enjoys adventure activities, and cherishes family time.
