Future Stars Ghana programme

  • Published Jun 02, 2026

A group of colleagues from Trust Alliance Group (TAG) have returned for our most recent visit to Ghana, organised in partnership with Future Stars. Future Stars is a sport and education charity supporting young people in undeserved communities in Ghana.

Our Impact

Over the last three years, TAG colleagues have supported the local school and wider community through fundraising, volunteering and direct engagement, with each stage building a clearer understanding of where support could make the most meaningful difference. This has enabled the approach to evolve over time, moving from immediate improvements to more considered, longer term support, shaped by what was seen and experienced.

Early work focused on improving the learning environment, including refurbishing the crèche, painting classrooms and providing resources for younger children. As the partnership developed, support became more targeted, including the provision of over 450 pairs of shoes for pupils and continued improvements to classroom spaces to create more practical and durable environments.

These changes have contributed to more consistent learning conditions for pupils and a more supportive environment for both education and development.

TAG colleagues visiting Ghana have continued to build on a shared effort shaped by collaboration and learning. Fundraising has been a central part of this, with those colleagues travelling to Ghana each undertaking their own fundraising, alongside wider contributions from across TAG. This collective approach has ensured that the impact of the partnership extends beyond individual visits and is supported more broadly across the organisation.

Continuing to Make an Impact

The most recent visit in April 2026, allowed us to look back at the cumulative impact of our work. Changes were evident not only in the physical environment, but also in the day-to-day experience of pupils and staff. Improvements to hygiene and maintenance, including the introduction of a full-time cleaner, reflected more consistent standards across the school and a stronger foundation for ongoing progress.

A key part of TAG’s ongoing support is the introduction of a monthly salary sacrifice initiative, with colleagues across TAG now contributing over £750 each month. This ongoing approach provides a consistent way to support a school medic, handyman and ongoing stewardship.

Andrea Evans-Bilham, Director of Relationships and Online Responsibility Network at TAG, said:
“This partnership reflects what it means to work with purpose. Over the past three years colleagues have taken the time to understand what is needed and respond in a way that supports meaningful and lasting change. Our impact is not defined by a single project or visit, but by the progress built over time and the relationships developed along the way.”

Liz Pritchard, Senior Leader for Sustainability and Social Impact at TAG, added:
“What stands out is the lasting legacy that has been created. The changes are visible, but it is the consistency behind them that matters, whether that is improved environments or better day to day conditions for pupils and staff.

“This is about supporting progress that can be maintained over time and contributing to better outcomes in a way that is meaningful and sustainable.”

The partnership with Future Stars reflects TAG’s purpose driven approach, as well as our commitment to driving better outcomes for all through practical action, collaboration and sustained support. It also reflects TAG’s role in driving legitimacy by supporting fair access to resources and contributing to improvements that can be maintained over time. This is underpinned by a focus on purpose led, responsible business practices and aligning activity across communities, consumers and the wider public interest to build trust and strengthen legitimacy.

Thank you to all of the colleagues who have supported this partnership over the past three years, and to everyone who has committed what they can in salary sacrifice contributions to underpin our ongoing support.
