TAG's latest investments focus on what matters most: making journeys clearer, conversations easier and outcomes better for consumers, colleagues and suppliers.
Transformation is often associated with big announcements, new technologies and ambitious future visions. But at Trust Alliance Group (TAG), innovation is measured by something much simpler: whether it makes life easier for the people who rely on our services every day.
Across the sector, trust is built, and lost, in the details. It lives in the moment a colleague pauses to listen carefully. It exists in whether a consumer can easily submit the evidence needed to support their case. It shows up in whether a supplier can clearly see what needs to happen next.
These moments may not make headlines, but they shape the experience of every stakeholder. That's why TAG continues to invest in practical digital tools designed around real-world needs, removing friction, improving confidence and supporting better outcomes across the customer journey.
Consumers: Making evidence submission simpler
TAG has also introduced a new Consumer Evidence Upload initiative, monitored through consumer experience scoring, to make it easier for consumers to provide the information needed to support their case.
While seemingly a small change, the impact can be significant. For many consumers, gathering and submitting evidence can be one of the most frustrating stages of the process. Simplifying that experience improves accessibility, reduces unnecessary barriers and helps consumers engage more confidently.
It also supports better decision-making. When evidence is submitted more easily and at the right stage of the journey, issues can be understood and resolved more effectively.
Supplier: Greater Visibility and Control
The new real-time task dashboard introduced across Energy Ombudsman and Communications Ombudsman is already delivering positive results for suppliers, helping teams manage workloads more efficiently and navigate tasks with greater clarity.
Early feedback from suppliers and providers has been particularly encouraging. Users reported that the portal is significantly easier to navigate, with a clearer layout and improved visibility of outstanding actions. The dashboard's signposting prompts have also been highlighted as a valuable feature during busy periods, helping colleagues understand priorities and next steps at a glance. Perhaps most notably, newer team members have been able to become productive more quickly, requiring less support to navigate the workstream.
"Far less chaotic and much simpler to navigate, everything we need is clearly laid out in one place. Newer team members have been able to adapt to the workstream much more quickly."
Colleagues: supporting sensitive conversations
One of TAG's latest initiatives is the launch of a new Sensitive Conversation Framework, designed to help colleagues navigate difficult or emotionally challenging conversations with greater confidence.
The framework supports colleagues when engaging with consumers who may be distressed, vulnerable, confused or struggling to explain their situation. Built around the CARES approach, Calm, Active Listening, Reassure, Encourage and Seek Help, it provides a practical structure that helps colleagues pause, assess what they are hearing and respond appropriately.
Importantly, the framework is not intended to script conversations or replace professional judgement. Instead, it provides practical guidance that empowers colleagues to remain empathetic, consistent and effective when it matters most.
Three improvements, one shared purpose
While each of these initiatives supports a different part of the journey, they are connected by a common objective: making interactions simpler, clearer and more effective for everyone involved.
For consumers, it means easier access to services and better support during challenging moments.
For suppliers, it means greater visibility, reduced complexity and a smoother day-to-day experience.
For colleagues, it means practical guidance that builds confidence and consistency.
None of these investments are about innovation for innovation's sake. Each reflects a specific need identified through real experience and real feedback. Together, they demonstrate TAG's commitment to improving outcomes by focusing on the details that matter most and support our purpose of building, maintaining and restoring trust.
