OmBudd-i: knowledge at everyone’s fingertips

Trust Alliance Group has launched OmBudd-i, a new AI knowledge assistant that gives colleagues one trusted place to find answers, guidance and supporting source material.

By bringing trusted knowledge together in one place, OmBudd-i is designed to reduce the time colleagues spend searching across different documents and systems. This will allow them to focus more time on understanding the information, considering the circumstances and applying their professional expertise.

Colleagues can ask technical questions in plain English, quickly access relevant guidance and see the regulations, guidance and source documents behind the response.

OmBudd-i is about more than launching another AI tool. It provides a practical example of how TAG believes AI should be introduced and used across the organisation.

Supporting professional judgement

OmBudd-i has been designed to support professional judgement, not replace it.

The tool helps colleagues find, understand and apply information more efficiently, but it doesn’t make decisions for them. Accountability, empathy and the final decision remain with the trained colleague.

Transparency is central to this approach. Responses can be traced back to the relevant source material, allowing colleagues to examine and challenge what the system has produced.

The quality of that knowledge is just as important as the technology. Teams must agree which information is trusted, ensure it’s accurate, establish clear ownership and keep it current.

Each AI capability must also have a defined purpose, appropriate controls and a clear understanding of what should happen if it produces an incomplete or incorrect response. Governance is considered from the beginning, rather than added at the end.

Measuring meaningful impact

The success of OmBudd-i won’t be measured by adoption alone. We’ll look at whether it improves quality, saves meaningful time, builds colleague confidence and ultimately contributes to consumers receiving fair outcomes sooner.
