In the first quarter of 2026 colleagues from across Trust Alliance Group (TAG) have come together to support communities, contribute their time, and build meaningful connections beyond their day-to-day roles, demonstrating authentic commitment to our values.
So far this year, 34 colleagues have taken part in volunteering, contributing 122 hours across a range of initiatives. This has included supporting foodbanks in Warrington, as well as regional foodbanks in Hartlepool and Nottingham, and working closely with Warrington Youth Zone.
We’ve also introduced team volunteering opportunities, making it easier for colleagues to support local foodbanks as a team. Colleagues took part in a deep clean of the Youth Zone’s sensory room – a space designed to help young people feel calm, regulate their emotions and take part in inclusive activities. They cleaned and organised the space to ensure it remains safe, welcoming and ready for those who rely on it.
Colleagues also attended the first Babyzone session at Warrington Youth Zone [on behalf of Energy Ombudsman], providing support on energy-related issues, explaining the role of Energy Ombudsman and how the service can help, and answering questions from those who may need additional support and will continue a monthly visible presence offering guidance where needed,
Being present in these spaces helps us stay connected to communities and better understand the challenges people may be facing.
Alongside volunteering, colleagues have attended events, including the Warrington Youth Zone Awards and the Wired Together Business Breakfast. These opportunities help build relationships with local organisations and partners, while continuing to listen and learn.
Colleagues attended the National Energy Action (NEA) conference, reinforcing the importance of working collaboratively across the sector to address challenges such as fuel poverty and support consumers more effectively.
This quarter has also seen colleagues raise funds in support of Future Stars charity. So far, more than £500 has been raised via a monthly salary sacrifice scheme to help provide school essentials such as food, books, uniforms and travel for children in less advantaged communities in Ghana. This will continue into the next quarter, alongside the efforts of colleagues who will be travelling to support this work further.
Liz Pritchard, Senior Leader for Social Impact and Sustainability, said:
“We’ve seen a strong start to the year, with colleagues supporting communities in a range of meaningful ways. By continuing to work collaboratively and stay connected to communities, we can support positive outcomes both now and in the future.”
While this is just the beginning, it’s been a positive start to the year. For Trust Alliance Group, this work reflects a continued commitment to supporting communities and working collaboratively with partners to make a difference.
By building strong relationships and maintaining a visible presence in communities, Trust Alliance Group continues to support better outcomes for all.
